Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato
For the second year in a row, we spent a couple days in Guanajuato last week for the Festival International Cervantino. The week long festival is every year in October, and draws artists respresenting over 30 countries - mostly from Latin America and Europe. Guanajuato is a magical city to visit on its own anytime of the year, but during the Cervantino things become especially lively with music, theatre, dance and other arts happening all over the city. This year, in addition to seeing some great music, we also took in the Alhondigas museum and Diego Rivera's birthplace and childhood home. There are several other interesting museums in town, exhibits at the University, great shopping and restaurants, etc. Also, a wonderful B&B where we stayed this year - highly recommended Casa Zuniga up the hill near the Pipila monument with most amazing views of the city.
